<note>

Automation execution is not available in the current closed beta. This page describes the planned model and will be replaced with operating instructions when the feature ships.

</note>

Automations are planned to respond to account events such as a contact being created, an opportunity changing stage, or a task becoming due.

## How Automations Work

An automation has three parts:

1. **Trigger** — The event that starts it (contact created, stage changed, date reached)
2. **Conditions** — Optional filters (only for contacts in "Enterprise" segment, only if deal value > $5k)
3. **Actions** — What happens (assign task, send email, update field, notify team)

## Common Automations

**New contact follow-up**
: Trigger: Contact created
: Action: Assign a "Follow up" task to the account owner, due in 2 days

**Stage change notification**
: Trigger: Opportunity stage changed to "Won"
: Action: Notify the team in Slack, create a "Kickoff call" task

**Stale deal alert**
: Trigger: Deal in same stage for 14 days
: Action: Assign a "Check in" task to the deal owner

## Before Automations Launch

Document the trigger, conditions, action, owner, expected result, and failure-handling rule for each process you want to automate. Start with recurring work that already has a stable manual procedure.
