Pipelines map your sales process. Each pipeline is a board with stages — drag deals between them as they progress.

## Creating a Pipeline

1. Go to **Sales > Pipelines**
2. Click **New Pipeline**
3. Name it (e.g. "Retainer Sales", "Project Quotes")
4. Add stages — each stage is a column on the board

## Stages

Stages represent where a deal is in your process. Common stages:

- **Lead** — Initial contact, not yet qualified
- **Qualified** — Confirmed budget, authority, need, timeline
- **Proposal** — Sent a proposal or quote
- **Negotiation** — Discussing terms
- **Won** — Deal closed
- **Lost** — Deal didn't close

Mark stages as **Won** or **Lost** to track conversion rates automatically.

## Opportunities

An opportunity is a deal in a pipeline. It links to a contact and has a monetary value. Track:

- Current stage
- Expected close date
- Assigned team member
- Notes and activity history

## Forecasting

Cleo tracks forecast slippage — how often deals move past their expected close date. Use this to improve your estimates over time.
