Getting Started
Pipelines
Visualize your sales process and track deals from first contact to close.
Pipelines map your sales process. Each pipeline is a board with stages — drag deals between them as they progress.
Creating a Pipeline
- Go to Sales > Pipelines
- Click New Pipeline
- Name it (e.g. "Retainer Sales", "Project Quotes")
- Add stages — each stage is a column on the board
Stages
Stages represent where a deal is in your process. Common stages:
- Lead — Initial contact, not yet qualified
- Qualified — Confirmed budget, authority, need, timeline
- Proposal — Sent a proposal or quote
- Negotiation — Discussing terms
- Won — Deal closed
- Lost — Deal didn't close
Mark stages as Won or Lost to track conversion rates automatically.
Opportunities
An opportunity is a deal in a pipeline. It links to a contact and has a monetary value. Track:
- Current stage
- Expected close date
- Assigned team member
- Notes and activity history
Forecasting
Cleo tracks forecast slippage — how often deals move past their expected close date. Use this to improve your estimates over time.
